About Us


Moore River Tech is an after hours PC support company that operates in the most Northern Suburbs of Perth.

We support customers from Clarkson, Alkimos, Butler, and Yanchep, all the way through to Two Rocks, Woodridge, Gabbadah, Guilderton, Gingin, and even as far north as Seabird.

We are a locally owned and operated business, with over 20 years of industry experience in IT ranging from helpdesk support through to IT systems, network, and telecommunications administration, as well as web server administration, website and web application design and management.

We are available to scope for business or personal IT projects, repairs and servicing, ongoing support contracts, and IT/Tech tasks and projects of all types.

FAQ

Why do you charge a one-hour minimum?

Our one hour minimum means that we are able to provide our service for you without the need for a callout fee. As we are a mobile support company with a dedicated team, we ensure that our clients get the best service available for the price.

What happens if the repair takes less than an hour?

As the majority of repairs take less than an hour, we offer a range of added extras that we can perform in the remaining time to make sure you are getting your money’s worth.

These include:

  • Perform a basic system health check.
  • Optimise startup and shutdown processes.
  • Clean up Quick Launch and the taskbar to remove clutter.
  • Speed up or update your browser.
  • Check for and remove spyware, viruses, and malware, or install virus protection software if you don't have any.
  • Make sure your operating system is up to date and secure.
  • Diagnose performance problems and suggest possible solutions.
  • Remove dust from inside the computer which may be effecting hardware performance, or provide a simple cleaning service for your peripheral devices.
  • Perform system maintenance to make your PC run more efficiently.
  • Check your wireless network security and perform upgrades if necessary.
  • Set up or create a plan for a local or cloud backup system to protect your family photos, business documents, and other irreplaceable data.

What happens if it takes longer than an hour?

Most of the time, the issue will be resolved within the first hour. However, if our technician suspects that it will take longer than an hour they will let you know as soon as possible. Our technician will provide you with options for you to decide how you would like to proceed.

We have a "No Fix/No Fee" policy, so if you decide not to proceed with the suggested solution you don't have to pay for our visit.

Of course, this policy only applies in the event that we have not already performed other requested repairs or tasks during that visit.

What if my computer is broken and it can’t be fixed?

In most cases we can repair, restore, or replace parts in your computer to keep it running. But sometimes the price involved in finding the correct out-of-date hardware is just too cost prohibitive.

Or you might find that there’s no point in paying to back your data up and then install a new operating system if your old hardware will be struggling to run it.

In these cases, a new PC is in order. We can make suggestions for a good off-the-shelf PC purchase, or we can provide a quote for a custom built system to suit your needs or budget.

What happens if I am not happy with the service?

We make it our goal to ensure every customer is as satisfied as possible. Sometimes the solution to a problem might not be what you want to hear, or sometimes things are so broken even we can’t fix them. However, if you feel that we haven’t done enough, or that we haven’t delivered the service you were hoping for, get in touch with us as soon as you can so we can see how to make it right.
